Black and white photography

The three images below show the stages of editing the black and white photography. I first altered the image to make the contrast higher so the image stood out more and held more drama. I then created a whole new layer with the same image but altered the colour to the lime colour the client asked for. Using the mask tool i removed the parts of the top layer which were to be green and this removed the bit of the image resulting in the green showing through from the later behind. In this case the writing on the sign was green. This method is fairly quick and simple but also quite effective and makes the image stand out.

The images below are contact sheets from the photoshoot in black and white. as you can see I like to take a lot of photographs to get the right one. In this case I was succesful getting the image i likes. All i needed to do was cover some blemishes which arose when the negatives were sent through the scanner and alter the brightness and contrast a little.
